Replace the Fuel Level sending Unit

Audi is a German based manufacturer who is mainly in to production of Luxury cars and these are featured with innovative technology and engineering.  The current article will let you know the procedure of replacing the Fuel Level Sending Unit. 

Tools required:  

• Pliers 
• Screwdriver 
• 3307 and 3217 tool 
• Wrench

 Instructions

• Make sure that the fuel tank is below the half level and then relieve the release the pressure from the fuel lines afore opening the fuel level sending unit. Try to remove the fuel filter cap and pump relay from the engine bay fuse box. Separate the negative terminal of the battery cable.

• Open the trunk by removing the trunk liner and carpet. Try locating the fuel pump cover plate which is closer to the rear seat.

• Separate the wiring harness and fuel lines.

• Use 3307 tool for Audi A4 to remove the fuel pump in order to access the fuel level sending unit or use 3217 tool in case of other models of Audi cars.

• Install and tighten strongly with the new sending unit. Reattach the fuel pump  and reconnect the fuel lines and wiring harness and finally replace the fuel pump access cover.

• Replace the carpet and fix the fuel filler cap, relay and negative battery terminal. Finally start the engine and check for the leakage
